Download Boot Camp Windows Drivers. We only need Boot Camp Assistant for its ability to download all of the Windows drivers we’ll need to ensure the install of Windows will run correctly on Mac hardware. We won’t be using Boot Camp Assistant to partition a drive or step us through the install process. I’m trying to install Windows 7 on a partitioned iMac (new Retina 5k) with Boot Camp using an external hard drive for installation files, etc. I’ve run into the same problems as above, but inside of my BootCamp Drivers Apple folder, there is only a ‘BootCamp’ item along with 10 others starting with ‘Apple’.

Boot Camp Update is a software package that includes the drivers and applications required to run Windows on an Intel-based Mac computer. The package allows Windows to properly recognize and access the installed hardware.

Mac users that own systems with Intel hardware have the option of installing and running Windows by using Boot Camp. This utility is installed on OS X and allows you to prepare the computer for the Windows installation by creating the suitable partition.
